passengers (Germany, 2019)I came to shoot the blooming heather during a beautiful foggy sunrise. Yet, I wasn’t satisfied with the composition. So I walked into the nearby forest just to find this which ultimately turned into one of my favourite images.

Tim Burton (Madeira, Portugal - 2018) The conditions are ever changing at the great place in the Fanal area at Madeira, Portugal. With clouds coming in at this altitude of above 1.000 m it allows for play with light and the amazing trees which are many hundreds of years old and show the wear and tear of nature. This image might look heavily processed but isn't, simply because the moment itself provided so much mood and drama. Reminding me on Tim Burton movies and making this the fitting name for this image.
Fanal tree (Fanal, Madeira)This UNESCO site is nice when you enter in bright daylight. But it turns magic when the ever incoming clouds move in at this place which lies about 1.200 meters above sea level. Then these trees seem to whisper stories of their ancient past which date back until the days of discovering the island in 1419.
