It’s the only island of the Faroes that has no people living on it. And for me it is the perfect subject for an image that combines the beauty, the rawness and the longing side of nature.
My buddy Mads-Peter Iversen provides some human element to the breathtaking view at Dragarnir, Faroe Islands. A wonderful hike that will never be forgotten.
long road (Passo Giau, Italy)
The Dolomites offer many breathtaking perspectives. This one taken with the drone.
The classic view at Bastei bridge in Elbsandsteingebirge, Germany, in soft morning light.
Madeira moment (Ponta do Sol, Madeira)
Those moments are pure joy: a lovely seascape including waterfall) and a perfect sky.
White and green
when I noticed this lone flower inside the lush green leaves I had to pick it up. …with the sensor of my camera. (found at the botanical garden Funchal, Madeira)
Hamnøy aurora (Lofoten Norway)
One of the most beautiful places in the world: the view from the bridge at Hamnøy, Lofoten. It was a special night when the aurora danced making this place even more special.
the beauty curtain (Uttakleiv, Lofoten Norway)
it is so easy to understand that humans have tried to explain this physical reaction with all different sorts of fables and religious explanations ever since. I like the thought of the lights being the souls of the dead who left us.
Olstinden aurora (Lofoten, Norway)
One of the most characteristic mountains at Lofoten islands, the mountain Olstinden. Best viewed with the dancing lady aurora.
Myrland streaks (Lofoten, Norway)
a wonderful and dramatic sunset at a rather not so often photographed spot of the beautiful Lofoten Archipelagos
Fanal tree (Fanal, Madeira)
This UNESCO site is nice when you enter in bright daylight. But it turns magic when the ever incoming clouds move in at this place which lies about 1.200 meters above sea level. Then these trees seem to whisper stories of their ancient past which date back until the days of discovering the island in 1419.
Tim Burton (Fanal, Madeira, Portugal)
The conditions are ever changing at the great place in the Fanal area at Madeira, Portugal. With clouds coming in at this altitude of above 1.000 m it allows for play with light and the amazing trees which are many hundreds of years old and show the wear and tear of nature. This image might look heavily processed but isn't, simply because the moment itself provided so much mood and drama. Reminding me on Tim Burton movies and making this the fitting name for this image.
Snow mountain (Lofoten, Norway)
The sun shines softly upon the peaks of the Lofoten mountains while the wind blows off fresh snow. I really like these scenes captured in minimalistic shots.
rough waters (Lofoten, Norway)
Strong leading lines can be found everywhere in the rough and rugged landscape of Lofoten, Norway. This one taken on a moody afternoon near Haukland beach.
Sakrisøy (Lofoten, Norway)
a moody day at Lofoten Islands. Perfect time and conditions to shoot the stunning arctic landscape.
Ballstad blues (Lofoten, Norway)
A beautiful small harbor with the irresistible twilight of the Norwegian winter.
Hamnøy cabins (Lofoten, Norway)
Red and white and blue. Serene calmness and beauty in this Northern wonderland.
Haukland ice (Lofoten, Norway)
fresh snow. cold ice. arctic scenery. and yet, beautiful warmth on the distant mountain peaks during this beautiful morning at Haukland beach.
Pastel Haukland (Loften, Norway)
A soothing moment to calm the rough and cold arctic environment.
