'there is so much to explore. I find beauty in things I had taken for granted for a long time.'
Zauberwald falls, Berchtesgaden (Germany)
Zauberwald (Berchtesgaden), Germany
Hintersee right behind that forest is well known and often photographed (from me as well). Surprisingly there are not so many shots from this gorgeous enchanted forest and its stream Ache. A real beauty with moss covered branches that make it appear like fallen out of time.
The Dark Hedges (Northern Ireland)
The famous road of beech trees planted in the 18th century. According to a legend this place is haunted by the ghost of a grey lady. But this place is even more haunted by fans of Game of Thrones nowadays.
This is a composite of a shot I took at the North-Sea of Germany at Westerhever. I combined it with a sky-shot I had taken from outside my bathroom window.
I thought I add something different to a shot that has been taken a million times already. So I threw a stone.
Obersee hut, Berchtesgaden (Germany)
We took our time and enjoyed the area. Had something to drink and eat and waited out until the sun moved around the mountain peak. Then we started shooting this lovely spot that was nicely framed by the incredible reflection of the lake, the high mountains around and the autumn leaves.
It is a special area in the very east of Germany: Elb sandstone mountains in Saxon Switzerland. I was hoping for low clouds when I photographed the sunrise. And luckily I got just that.
Gollinger Mühle (Austria)
We went to shoot the Gollinger waterfalls. And just a few meters away from there this picturesque mill was waiting to end up in a long exposure.
End of night (Germany)
After a heavy thunderstorm the night before the early morning greeted with a calm blue hour. Even the moon said "good morning" when I sat up my tripod to shoot this beautiful area.
It looks like straight out of a movie: Bastei at Saxon Switzerland. How fitting that a film team was there to shoot a scene while I was photographing the place.
Epic poppies (Germany)
I saw this impressive sunset sky, hurried outside and looked for the next best composition to capture this moment. This field of poppies not far from where I live made for a good foreground.
Lighthouse Westerheversand (Germany)
A classic postcard shot from the German North-sea coast area.
Geroldsee sunrise (Germany)
a gorgeous sunrise at the stunning landscape of Geroldsee, Bavaria (Germany). That was the kick-off to my tour through the Alps.
Westerhever drama (Germany)
Dramatic clouds are rolling into Westerhever, Germany, where the famous lighthouse signals with its light.
2 shots in a composite: 1 for the ground and 1 for the sky. The sun had set and the mood was nice. But when editing I thought there was something missing. So I decided to take a rather creative approach and replace the sky.
One of the more hidden gems in Saxon Switzerland, Germany, is this waterfall. Kind of cranked into a corner in the midst of the rock, a house and a small beer garden. Makes it very accessible but also a little less impressive.
Until you play around with long exposures and nice light. Then this waterfall comes to life and shows its original beauty.
cold sun (Germany)
It was a really cold but beautiful morning outside of my hometown Hanover, Germany.
